Ernst & Young: International Accounting and Investment Firm opens a pipeline to the future and opens its heart to Rutgers Future Scholars.

SAT Prep: Ernst & Young was among the earliest partners who embraced the mission of preparing Rutgers Future Scholars for admissions to Rutgers. When the Class of ‘17 were still in their 9th grade year of high school, Mr. Ken Boyer, Director of the Americas, proposed funding SAT prep. This all seemed so far away. But he was on target! With the generous funding of EY we provide SAT prep and practice tests to 100 Scholars during the school year and summer programs’ curriculum. We now see the results of Ernst & Young’ supports, as impressive numbers of Class of ‘17 scholars are being admitted to Rutgers with competitive SAT scores.

Mentoring: As part of our Career Awareness & Readiness course, EY puts out the welcome mat to  100 eleventh grade scholars each summer at its NYC corporate headquarters located in Times Square.  Scholars are treated as VIP’s for a day from the moment of their arrival when they receive personal portfolios and participate in workshops analyzing the value of their personality strengths as part of successful organizational teams. They leave their memorable day at E&Y with their own daily journal entitled “Courage Every Day.” To complement the internship course, they provide first hand internship experiences with real estate experts, private small business owners, restaurant chefs and community service organizations. E&Y has also helped with teaching scholars dining etiquette and taken them to the local golf course so they can learn the game where all the important deals are made!

E&A: Our Angels and heroes:  E&A staffs, on a personal level, have joined the Rutgers Family. When a Jorge, 9th grade Future Scholar, lost his courageous battle with leukemia, our E&A angels and heroes sent personal donations to help his family.

Ernst & Young believes in Rutgers Future Scholars and are providing the resources to change lives and produce successful future leaders in the global economy
