The Merck Foundation
Since 2009 the Merck Foundation has generously supported the Summer Program for rising 8th grade Scholars serving as an integral component of the overall mission and goals of RFS. It offers these 200 8th grade Scholar’s their first formalized introduction to the RFS Program, higher education, and Rutgers University.
The Summer Program is designed to provide the Scholars with an enriching, educational, and social environment on a vibrant and active college campus. Activities are focused on comprehensive experiential learning opportunities to excite and motivate 1st Year Scholars to develop a lifetime passion for learning. Courses and workshops offered during the program range of concepts and career opportunities from: Physics, Public Speaking, Graphic Design, Poetry, Law, Contemporary Art, Chemistry, Nursing, Geosciences, Education, Research, Business Management, and Improvisation.
