Rutgers Future Scholars Field Program Assistant
The Rutgers Future Scholars-Newark program is seeking dynamic and energetic Field Program Assistants.
The Field Program Assistant’s role is to assist in executing the day-to-day operations of the program. This consists of assisting the Rutgers Future Scholars Coordinators with varied administrative tasks throughout the day.
Rutgers Future Scholars College Readiness Ambassador
The Rutgers Future Scholars-Newark program is seeking dynamic and energetic college students to serve as College Readiness Seminar Ambassadors during our 2017 Saturday Institute
College Readiness Seminar Ambassadors will work in pairs to facilitate our Team Building and College Readiness Seminars for students in grades 8 through 12.
Academic Enrichment Tutors
Academic Enrichment Tutors are responsible for organizing and facilitating creative and engaging one-on-one and group tutoring sessions.
This role also entails fostering and building appropriate mentoring relationships with Future Scholars.
All hired staff members are required to attend orientation and training prior to the beginning of summer employment.

Mentoring as a Public Service
Fall and Spring Courses Available
“Mentoring as a Public Service” is a 3-credit course in Africana Studies offered in the Fall and Spring (01:014:286:).
The course is designed to foster an environment that encourages Rutgers Future Scholars in New Brunswick and Piscataway to find their full potential through mentoring. The course will also fulfill major/minor requirements in Africana Studies as well as general education requirements.
In addition to a weekly class recitation, mentors will meet weekly with their assigned scholars throughout the semester.

Summer Ambassador Employment
Summer Employment/Volunteer Opportunities
Summer Ambassador Employment positions are available during the months of June and July. The responsibilities include working daily with scholars in grades 8 through 12, guiding them to their classes, assisting in the classrooms and providing insight of what to expect when they get to college. Applications open in April of each year. Please visit the website in the spring for Summer 2018.
